With your team assembled and training organised, it's time to prepare yourself for the season of fixtures ahead.

Completing Preparations

Ensure that all administrative tasks are finalised:

  • DBS check completed

  • Safeguarding and First Aid courses passed

  • All players registered and fees paid

Once everything is in order, the club will enter your team into the appropriate league: either the Timperley and District League or the Salford and District League. Upon entry into one of these leagues, you will be provided with the details for a designated Divisional Secretary for your respective division. These are volunteer league representatives who provide you with information throughout the season, and who can assist you with any queries you may have. Feel free to introduce yourself to your Divisional Secretary once you have been provided with their details.

FA Full-Time Website

You will receive an invitation to the FA Full-Time website, the platform where your fixtures are posted. Action steps include:

  • Logging In: Access the website promptly after receiving the invitation.

  • Verifying Details: Check that your contact information is correct.

  • Admin Access: If someone in your parent group is taking care of managing the administrative side of running the team, then it's worth checking that your team administrator also has access to manage fixtures and communications.

Staying on top of this information is crucial for smooth coordination throughout the season.

Divisional Secretaries

When you are assigned to a league, you will be introduced to a Divisional Secretary (Div Sec). This is a volunteer from the League Organisation who administrates all the teams across a particular age group for that league. Your Div Sec should be your first point of contact for any league related queries or issues. Please be aware that they are volunteers just like you, and sometimes you may not get an immediate response to a query. If something is urgent, and you are not getting a quick answer, then consider approaching our own Urmston Town Club Secretary to see if they can assist.

Understanding League Rules

Familiarise yourself with the league's rules specific to your age group, such as:

  • Match duration and format

  • Refereeing procedures

  • Game rules

Urmston Town has provided chatbots for both the Timperley and District League and the Salford and District League. These chatbots are user-friendly and contain all the necessary information you need. Simply start a conversation with the chatbot to ask about any league-related queries. If you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to reach out to your Divisional Secretary for assistance. Links to the relevant league chatbots are provided below.
